Due to the pandemic that the world faces, situations of fragility arise. This exposes us to seer and cabalistic tricksters who predict unrealities in order to acquire some fame, power or money. They take advantage of the psychological sensitivity generated by the pandemic, and thus many people believe in them and fall into their clutches.

This problem, in fact, is a catastrophe even before the pandemic. There are a large number of contributions that, instead of being destined for noble causes, end up in the hands of these mentioned immoral characters who live by deceiving and swindling afflicted or vulnerable people.

Regarding this problem, the highest leader of the world of the Ieshibot (rabbinical academies), Rabbi Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman, spoke before his death, and since his words were so correct, I transcribe below the letter that he published before dying.

“To our Argentine friends and friends from all over the world that we love so much, I beg you to consider this and stop being influenced by superstitions and fantasies, and do good as G-d directs, without superstitions that only lead human beings to perdition. G’d bless you ”.

COMMUNICATION ON THOSE PEOPLE WHO PRESENT THEMSELVES AS SEEERS AND KABBALISTS OF THE HIGHEST RABINIC AUTHORITY, RAB AHARON LEIB SHTEINMAN Z ”L

In these times, in which the progressive moral weakening is deepening, some opportunists found a gap to present themselves before society under the mantle of Kabbalists, when in their majority, or rather, in their totality, they are people that were never instructed and didn’t learn the tradition with serious teachers.

These people presume to know the past of those who turn to them and predict omens about the future, and unfortunately many innocents are attracted by their supposed powers and their verbal manipulation.

The most affected ones are those whose personal or family situation is going through difficult times. The fact that, currently, faith is fragile and everyone wants to get out of adversity however it may be, whatever the cost, the situation worsens and these people become more susceptible to being convinced of unreal things.

It happens that a large part of these Kabbalists, in addition to not having enough knowledge of the teachings of our Torah, do not even observe the Law and its commandments, and -God forbid- they transgress extremely serious sins. And even those who do not reach such a point of default are far from being considered talmidé hachamim (sages of the Torah and fearing of God) and people of purely spiritual interest; nothing they do is for the benefit of their followers, but for the sake of their monetary ambition.

We alert the community because, in addition to the fact that people are being deceived, their assets are being unfairly taken away.

These facts generate that members of our community receive bad influences from people who pretend to represent the good without being the indicated ones, when the consequences of this phenomenon constitute a threat to the progress of our youth and even adults.

So we exhort our brothers to stay away from those who present themselves as Kabbalists, and to conduct themselves according to the G’d-fearing sages, whose only guidance is the Torah and its precepts, and who continue to teach our ancient tradition that is transmitted from generation to generation without incurring any kind of trickery.

I will pray and give my blessing so that whoever follows the path traced by the true talmidé hajamim – those who dedicate themselves to the study of the Torah according to the Divine Will – will have no harm or misfortune , and that those who -G’d forbid – are going through a misadventure, be redeemed from it soon; May they have the merit of seeing their children and grandchildren dedicated to the study of the Torah and the fulfillment of its precepts with fear of G’d, just as it was commanded by Him, blessed be his Name.
