Sephardic Community

Learn about the community’s arrival in Buenos Aires and its first steps in this land.

Founded in 1914 by Sephardic immigrants from Turkey and the Balkans, the Sephardic Community of Buenos Aires was established with the purpose of preserving its heritage and building a future in Argentina. From its beginnings, it created synagogues, schools, charitable institutions, and a Central Chief Rabbinate, becoming a center of faith, education, and unity. Today, it continues to grow through educational, religious, and community programs that bring together hundreds of young people and families, keeping alive the tradition and values of its founders.
