Article published by Iton Gadol on 06/06/2023, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Rabbi Shelomo Ezra Sacca, director of the Menora Bet Midrash and the Lily Safra Midrash of Menora, has led and put together the Spanish edition of the Siddur “Kol Yaakov” from the prestigious Koren Publishers.

This Siddur, based on the customs of the Sephardic Jews who immigrated to Argentina from Aleppo, in addition to faithfully preserving the Aleppo tradition, is valid to a large extent for Sephardic Jews from other cities such as Damascus, Izmir and Istanbul. This achievement is significant for the Sephardic Jewish community in our country.

The Siddur “Kol Yaakov” has the translation and commentary of the Great Rabbi of the United Kingdom, Lord Jonathan Sacks Z»L, and the translation into Spanish has been made by Rabbi Israel Diament. Regarding the dikduk of the Siddur, it was done professionally by Chazan David Iehonatan Safdie, an expert in dikduk in general and, in particular, in dikduk according to the Halebi tradition.

This publication has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Sephardic Heritage Foundation, an institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Sephardic heritage.

The Spanish edition of the Siddur “Kol Yaakov” offers a valuable tool to the Sephardic community in Argentina, to strengthen their connection with Sephardic tradition and spirituality.

Rabbi Shelomo Ezra Sacca and his team have invested great dedication and commitment in the realization of this important project. His leadership has been fundamental in carrying out this initiative that will benefit numerous Sephardic Jews in our community.

It is a new achievement of the excellent team of rabbis and educators from Menora Argentina, which contributes to the cultural and religious development of the Jewish community.
