Solidarity doesn’t stop during the pandemic

Quarantine couldn’t stop the solidarity actions carried out by youngsters of Menora, who go on helping and bringing smiles to those who need it most and to those workers who daily expose themselves to danger in order to take care of us in this difficult moment that we have to go through.

From the beginning of social, preventive and compulsory isolation in Buenos Aires, youngsters of Menora carried out various solidarity acts. On one hand, they organized a blood donation campaign, which took place at Chella & Moise Safra Center, together with the Sagrado Corazón Sanatorium, sponsored by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. Both the Sagrado Corazón Sanatorium and Menora strictly complied with all hygiene and prevention regulations to carry out this task, which let more than 100 youngsters and local officials came by to donate blood.

In addition, youngsters of Menora delivered breakfasts to Health professionals who are struggling against the virus everyday in hospital in precarious areas.

On the other hand, a group of the World Organization for the Youth gave presents to members of the fire station in Villa Crespo, thanking them for their tireless work for society, after the fire in which two firemen lost their lives rescuing neighbors.

All of this happened in the frame of a collaboration call with social assistance organizations that Menora will carry out aiming to mitigate suffering and social risk situations which, due to the pandemic, may “get even worse for a long time in our country if every citizen and institution do not take action”, said Rabbi Isaac Sacca, President of Menora.

In order to achieve the goals, Rabbi Sacca met, in the first place, Victoria Tolosa Paz, head of the Federal Council for Social Policies, to tell her about the initiative. She thanked him for the action plan and she is at total disposal to deliver aids to those in need through the space she directs.

These nice gestures and others that will come, are examples which show us that, in the most difficult moments, solidarity reaches unimaginable limits when it comes to helping and bringing smiles.
