Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca’s tour of Spain

Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca made a significant trip to Spain, where he met with members of the Madrid Jewish community: friends, students, colleagues, and prominent figures and community leaders.

First, he was summoned by the president of CEAPI and of Atrevia, Nuria Vilanova, to participate in an enriching meeting with distinguished leaders and businesspersons. During this meeting, they reflected on the challenges facing Latin America from a business and socially responsible perspective. It should be noted that CEAPI is holding an important congress in Madrid this week with the presence of more than 400 Ibero-American businesspersons and of King Felipe.

In addition, the Chief Rabbi participated in the Olami Summit, where he had the opportunity to meet with more than 600 young people from all over the world who are part of the Olami Mentorship Summit in Toledo. At the opening of the event, he emphasized the importance of unity and commitment of young people in the mission of doing good.

During his visit, the Chief Rabbi together with Rabbi Gabriel Sacca, director of Menora Argentina, met with Rabbi Meir Rosenberg, who provides constant support to Jewish organizations in Argentina and Latin America. He also highlighted the contribution of Elie Horn and Aron Wolfson, main sponsors of Worldwide Olami for Youth, who made the Olami Mentorship Summit possible.

Another relevant meeting took place at the Centro Sefarad-Israel, where the Chief Rabbi met with the general director of the center, Jaime Moreno Bau, in the presence of the Minister of Diaspora Affairs of the State of Israel, Amichai Chikli, and the delegation from the Israeli Embassy in Spain. During this meeting, the noble role of the Centro Sefarad-Israel in promoting friendship and cooperation between Israel and the Jewish world in Spain was highlighted.

On Shabbat (Sabbatical day), the Jewish community of Madrid specially organized a seminar on Judaism for the visit of the Chief Rabbi. He was received by Rabbi Moshe Bendahan and his wife, Rabbanit Coty Bendahan, the president Estrella Bengio, Mr. Isaac Kerub, Mr. Benoliel, Rafael Romano, Moshe Levi and other important leaders and volunteers of the Madrid Jewish community, who gave him a warm welcome. Rabbi Shelomo Sacca, director of the Edmond J. Safra Institute for Rabbinical Training and Community Leadership was also invited to give several lectures at the seminar.

An emotional meeting was also held at Nuria Vilanova’s residence, where prominent Ibero-American leaders and businesspersons met with the aim of finding strategies and actions to improve people’s quality of life.

Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca’s tour of Spain was an enriching and productive experience, promoting collaboration, dialogue and joint work for the benefit of the community and society in general.
