At San Martín Palace, Menora organized the graduation ceremony for the Menora UP university degrees. We celebrate the first 15 graduates of the Business and Graphic Design course.

Authorities from Menora and the University of Palermo were present: Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca, president of Menora and Chief Rabbi of the Sephardic Community; Rabbi Gabriel Sacca, Director of Menora; Matias Popovsky, vice rector of the University of Palermo; Natalia Popovsky, director of the Department of Institutional Communication.

The ceremony was held at San Martín Palace thanks to the courtesy of the National Secretariat for Worship. On its behalf, Jorge Stokland, National Director of the National Record of Worship for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was present.

The event had the special participation of the Ambassador of Israel Eyal Sela, Sebastian Habif, treasurer of the Sephardic Community of Buenos Aires, Javier Suez, president of the Tzedaka Foundation, and Marcos Cohen, vice president of DAIA.

Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca highlighted that the university courses of the Menora UP Program changed history within the community and emphasized the importance of combining spirit with matter: “this is how God created the human being: He mixed matter with spirit” .

Rabbi Gabriel Sacca thanked the Argentine Foreign Ministry for providing such a majestic place as San Martin Palace:

“Its name reminds us of the leader, founder of the pioneers of our country who fought for freedom. In the same way, these young people are pioneers of a revolution that changes the paradigm of society”.

Jorge Stokland, National Director of the Record of Worship, congratulated Menora and the University of Palermo for the educational work they do for the country, and also the parents and graduates.

The Ambassador of Israel Eyal Sela – guest of honor at this event – showed great admiration for Menora and for the Study Program, and congratulated the graduates as a proud father of his children who receive an academic certification after so much sacrifice.

David Maleh and David Satalovsky, graduates of the Business Administration course, addressed those present on behalf of the other graduates. They talked about their experience and main lessons learned from the program. They highlighted the sustained growth of the program and thanked all the support from the team of professionals who work to make it possible. What for them started as a dream, became a great reality.

The Menora UP University Study Program was born thanks to the deep desire of religiously observant young people, who wanted to receive academic training, without neglecting their customs and traditions.

In 2017, it began with 12 students in the Business Administration course.

Currently there are 140 students in four university majors: Computer Engineering, Graphic Design, Business Administration, and Psychology.
