The president of the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organization receives Rabbi Sacca in Israel

Article published in Visavis on July 14, 2022.

One of the main meetings of Rabbi Sacca in Israel was the visit to Yaacov Hagoel, who carries out a titanic task for peace and the education of the Jewish people, a task that he shares with the Chief Rabbi. Sacca’s work in the diaspora is a fundamental contribution to the mission of the Jewish Agency. Working in a coordinated way makes the result of all the effort even more promising.

Yaakov Hagoel is the president of the World Zionist Organization and interim president of the World Jewish Agency. He heads the Department for Activities in Israel and for Countering Anti-Semitism at the World Zionist Organization. He is a member of the Jewish Agency Executive, a member of the Finance Committee and Co-Chairman of the Task Force Against Anti-Semitism. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Keren Hayesod, of the Yad Vashem Council, and of the Herzl Council in the Prime Minister’s office. He has been an Associate Member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Agency for Israel since 2010.

The World Jewish Agency works to overcome the greatest challenges that Jewish people face. It creates links between Diaspora Jews and Israel, fostering culture and tradition, through education and ongoing support.

Sacca, for his part, as Chief Rabbi of the Sephardic Community of Buenos Aires and President of the Menora organization, has been working for more than 20 years shaping young people identified with the Jewish culture and the State of Israel.

The meeting, which made it possible to plan actions to leverage each other, confirms the need for joint work. This promises encouraging results for Diaspora Jews and for the State of Israel.
