During his visit to Israel, Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca participated in the traditional weekly conference of the Rishon LeZion Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel Yitzhak Yosef before an audience of thousands of attendees and broadcasted live to the entire world.

On this occasion, Sacca, after his dissertation as a special guest of the Israeli Chief Rabbi, presented the book Sefat Hayam (“Seaside”) by Rabbi Yitzhak Mayo (1725-1810), an outstanding Chief Rabbi and leader of the rabbinical court of Izmir, Turkey.

This book had not been published since its first edition in 1818 in Thessaloniki. On this occasion, it was published under the auspices of Eng. Marcos Daniel Mayo, president of the Sephardic Community of Buenos Aires, and his family.

The Chief Rabbi expressed the importance of investigating and studying the authors of yesteryear because that is how the Torah is better understood even in the present. He congratulated those responsible for the edition and conveyed his blessing to the entire Argentine Community.
