Rabbi Isaac Sacca met Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who invited the Chief Rabbi of the Sephardic Community of Buenos Aires to the São Bento Palace in Lisbon to recognize the law that grants Portuguese citizenship to the expelled Sephardim.

Rabbi Sacca appreciated the invitation of the Portuguese President and blessed him for the important role he plays.

Like Spain, Portugal also passed a law that allows all those of Sephardic descent, the possibility of processing Portuguese nationality, regardless of whether they reside in Portugal or not.

However, unlike Spain, the law has no expiration date, that is to say that applicants do not have a deadline to submit their applications.
