The teachings of the Perasha of Noah for the couple

On Monday, October 26th, we shared a new meeting for couples through Zoom. Ariel Berim, Director of Menora Youth, was the host of the event.

Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca provided 3 tips that can be learned from the Perasha (weekly reading) of Noah to apply to the couple.

1.Learn to consider the couple as the supreme value of society.
God told Noah to protect himself from the flood, he and his wife, his children and their wives. This teaches us that society can only survive destruction when the institution of marriage is respected above everything else, when there is respect for the couple, the family. For this reason God emphasizes to Noah: “… you and your wife, your children and their wives.”

2.  Noah was, as his Hebrew name implies, calm, respectful, especially with his partner. His name comes from the term menucha, lanuach, which means rest, softness, tranquility, appeasement. This teaches us that in the bond of the couple it is necessary to be Noah to be safe. It is not good to be reactionary, violent, aggressive, since that way you cannot maintain any type of relationship.

3. Just as the ark protected them from the outside world that was being destroyed by corruption, in the same way we must act in our lives with our partners and in our homes: we must be protectors, guardians and maintain the noble customs, which are the basis of good relationships.
