Inspirational Conference SOS 5781

Last Thursday, September 24th, the annual SOS Megaconference took place, in which Rabbi Isaac Sacca, Rabbi Daniel Oppenheimer and Rabbi Abraham Serruya spoke for the fifteenth time in a row. Rabbi Gabriel Sacca, director of Menora, led the event. This year the dynamic was virtual as a result of the pandemic, however it allowed the participation of listeners from different latitudes; more than 1000 participants were connected.

Rabbi Gabriel Sacca explained that these 15 years of the SOS Megaconferences were years of inspiration to get closer to our Creator, to our community, to our neighbor and to ourselves.

Rabbi Daniel Oppenheimer explained that one of the issues that we must improve as we approach Yom Kippur is how we treat others, especially with speech. What comes out of the mouth does not have to be less casher than what goes in.

Rabbi Abraham Serruya highlighted the importance of knowing how to ask for forgiveness and knowing how to forgive.

If you ask for forgiveness with love and conviction, your bad actions turn into positive ones.

Rabbi Isaac Sacca explained that, as a result of the pandemic, humanity feels threatened, and it is an opportunity to reflect on the disunity and discord that has existed between the human species since its origins and end it once and for all. The threat to everyone has a positive effect if we know how to take advantage of it to unite all of us.

Finally, Rabbi Gabriel Sacca wished for a sweet year, he wished we can understand and enjoy what G’d sends us and that unity and fraternity prevail.
