On the 24th of Kislev in the year 5760 of the Hebrew calendar, Edmond J. Safra passed away. Edmond was a philanthropist all his life, cared for collaborating in all aspects of the lives of the people and the people of Israel. Such was his greatness that he made sure that even after his death, the foundation that has his name continues to collaborate with noble causes.
Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca highlighted: “Edmond Safra is a hero of the people of Israel, who supported, supports and will support culture, education and charity.”
On Kislev 24th, 5782, November 28th, 2021 of the Gregorian calendar, was the twenty-second anniversary of his departure. In his honor, Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca called a prayer in his memory that was attended by rabbis and teachers from the staff of Menora and students from the different training courses of the Edmond J. Safra Institute for Rabbinical Training and Community Leadership of Menora.
“We have eternal gratitude for him, a visionary person who knew how to use his wealth to do good. Very few have the wisdom to translate their own blessing into a blessing for others, “said the Chief Rabbi. “About the pious, even after death, it is said that they are still alive, because they continue to do Mitzvot (good deeds). Their tracks and their mark will last a lifetime. “
The Edmond J. Safra Foundation, currently chaired by his wife, Mrs. Lily Safra, supports institutions in Argentina and all around the world.
Edmond J. Safra is one of those people who, both in life and after his death, continue to act for the benefit of humanity and the people of Israel. He had the Zechut (merit) that his wife Lily and the entire foundation carry on his legacy.
Finally, the Chief Rabbi highlighted the work of the Staff of rabbis and teachers from Menora and other institutions that were present, all students from the different proposals of the Edmond J. Safra Institute for Rabbinical Training and Community Leadership of Menora.
