On Thursday, December 10th, Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca participated in the Bat Misvah group ceremony of the Bereshit School students of seventh grade: Denise Aboud, Natali Blanca, Sol Hamra, Abril Mesri, Laila Recepter, Tali Schiller, Magali Slatman and Clara Svetskin.
The event was held at the CSHA and could also be broadcast via Zoom, for all those family members and friends who could not attend, as the ceremony was adapted to current health protocols.
The Rabbi in his message to the students, congratulated them and emphasized the great satisfaction of seeing them grow at the Bereshit school. He highlighted the purity, love, affection, and respect for G’d and for the neighbor that they transmit before so much frivolity that prevails in society.
He explained that the people of Israel have been celebrating Bat and Bar Misvah for thousands of years.
Women are equal to men . Society became sexist and covered up that celebration that the people of Israel had. Today, thanks G’d, women have regained the right to celebrate their Bat Misvah. All women are loved by G’d, as well as men, without difference. In the end, he blessed the young ladies.
Then the Rabbi proceeded to light the candles on the occasion of the festivity of Hanukkah.
