In a prominent event for cultural diversity, the Hispanic Jewish Foundation brought together the Minister of Diaspora, Omer Yankelevich, and Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca.
Chaired by David Hatchwell, the Hispanic Jewish Foundation defines itself as an organization that works to create doors between Jewish and Hispanic culture.
With that motto as a guide, on Wednesday March 17th, the HJF brought together two great leaders, the Minister of Diaspora, Omer Yankelevich and Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca, who emphasized the importance of dialogue, training and working together.
David Hatchwell hosted the event with Ashley Perry Perez as moderator.
Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca stressed that the common goal of the Ministry of Diaspora and the HJF is to foster ties between the Jews of the Diaspora and Israel, overthrow prejudices and promote progress for all humanity.

He added that humanity has a history of war and peace. The nature of the human being is to react with fear before the unknown. The same Torah is a succession of conflicts between siblings and peoples and their process towards peace.
This is achieved – Sacca concluded – by getting to know each other, fostering dialogue, cultural exchange and encounters so that the stranger becomes a neighbor, someone close. That is what the work of the Ministry of Diaspora and the HJF is all about.
For her part, Minister Omer Yankelevich highlighted the importance of strengthening ties. The Spanish-speaking community has a natural bond with Israel and with the Jews. The story is fascinating -she said. We must build on those roots. Education and cooperation are essential, it is a mutual responsibility. Create opportunities to formalize dialogue based on shared ties.
The minister of Diaspora highlighted the importance of training new leaders; empower Jewish youth around the world in order to strengthen Jewish identity and connect communities with different initiatives.
