At the Sephardic Chief Rabbinate of Buenos Aires, we received the Olami group from the United States, made up of: Rabbi Raphael Butler, president of Olami, Rabbi David Markowitz, Executive Director of Olami, and Rabbi Meir Rosenberg, Olami Regional Director for Latin America,
The purpose of the visit was to learn about Menora’s programs and to get to know the New Olami Villa Crespo Youth Center in Menora. Another purpose was to see the different programs developed for youth, in which more than 4,000 young people participate monthly.
They were received by Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca, Rabbi Gabriel Sacca, General Director of Menora International, and Rabbi Eliezer Kaplan from the Olami Buenos Aires Center in Menora, Villa Crespo.
Olami permanently accompanies Menora in programs aimed at Jewish youth. They include social, solidarity and educational proposals.
The visit was of great importance to strengthen intercommunity ties and work together for the youth.
For more than 20 years, Menora and the foundations of Mr. Horn from Brazil and Mr. Wolfson from the USA have been working hand in hand to create new programs that motivate young people to develop their potential in a community setting. Menora’s initiatives have been replicated around the world thanks to the support of this foundation. Menora is among the most successful organizations linked to Olami, which number more than 300 worldwide, including Israel and the United States. The Menora-Olami alliance has reached more than 15,000 young people in the last 10 years.
