The Ambassador of Uruguay in Argentina, Carlos Enciso Christiansen, visited the Sephardic Chief Rabbinate in the City of Buenos Aires on April 22nd. He was received by Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca.
“It is a great honor to have had your presence” – said Rabbi Sacca. “Argentina and Uruguay are two sibling countries and with a significant presence of Jewish communities,” he said.
On the other hand, Ambassador Carlos Enciso Christiansen expressed his deep interest and admiration for the values of Judaism. He also highlighted the variety and strength of the Jewish communities in Buenos Aires.
The meeting was held aiming to strenghten relations between the Argentine Jewish community and the Government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, and exploring ways of community collaboration on both sides of the River Plate.
