Tips for a Successful Couple IV, Inspired by the Weekly Torah Portion Vaiera

On Monday, November 9th, at the weekly meeting for young couples, Rabbi Isaac Sacca highlighted two elements for a good relationship in the couple, inspired by the weekly portion of Vaiera:

1. The importance of choosing a partner with common values. We learn this from Abraham and Sarah who determined if Ribká had the qualities to form a couple with Isjak, their son.

2. The way in which we face the bond of a couple is fundamental for the construction of a family and the realization of shared objectives. When we have a partner, the forces of the human being are strengthened and we can do wonderful things as Abraham, Sarah, Ribká and Isjak did.

The family is what holds us in times of crisis. A partner accompanies us to go through life ( It is not the same to go through life alone than with a family who is there for us)

We want to live in the best possible way, and that is what G’d wants for us. The couple makes us achieve that life of excellence.

If Abraham and Sarah hadn’t met, the world would be different.

G’d tells us that Abraham and Sarah carried out a philosophical, theological, and humanistic revolution because they were together. He shows us that they could not have done what they did in the world separately.

Abraham and Sarah were an idyllic example of love and brotherhood between two people and they managed to form a great nation that is the entire humanity.

They both proclaimed Chesed, solidarity. Dedication to others begins with my partner, then with the rest of the world. The consideration of the couple is above all the favors in the world.

G’d created a relationship system for each one to take care of our nearest ones.

From Abraham and Sarah we learn that Chesed begins at home.
