The Economic and Social Council met with representatives of religious entities and different parliamentary blocks in the Honorable National Congress to move forward in the construction of multi-sector agreements that will allow strengthening democratic coexistence in Argentina.
Both Chief Rabbi Isaac Sacca, on behalf of the Jewish Faith, and Monsignor Ojea, on behalf of the Christian Faith, participated in this reflection meeting, on the fortieth anniversary of the recovery of democracy in Argentina.
All political voices and representatives of religious entities were summoned by Mercedes Marcó del Pont, Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of the Argentine Nation.
Faced with the growing wave of manifestations of intolerance and violence against social and political coexistence, those present assumed the commitment to continue defending and promoting the values of freedom, tolerance and respect.
“We claim multi-sector dialogue as a mechanism to resolve and settle, in an environment of respect for plurality and diversity, our differences, controversies and conflicts” – asserted those involved in the meeting.
The exchanges held by the ESC over the last two months revealed that eradicating the different forms of violence and intolerance is a necessary condition to guarantee democratic coexistence, as well as to advance in an inclusive development process.
“We have the strength to create bridges”, highlighted the Chief Rabbi, alluding to the ties of brotherhood that we must foster with our fellow men, regardless of their creed, their social condition or economic situation.
